I was in the truck and I thought I would address a few things about this whole Covid-19 experience. You know, from my point of view. I mean, it’s a Truckcast, what else would you expect. Anyway, we’re going to talk about masks and coughs and vaccines and a few other things. Give it a listen–you’ll be saving a life.
That last bit might have been something of an exaggeration, but I would like you to give it a listen. For every listen, an angel gets its wings.
Here is the first Truckcast of 2020. Hell, the first Truckcast in 5-months. I’m way out of practice in both recording/speaking and editing these things… I pray you think it not absolute rubbish.
Anywho, I took to the microphone to try and get you up to speed on a whole variety of things going on around these parts. The index of the podcast might read something like this: web updates, antipathy, DIY & Projects, crafting, pre-diabetes & weight, health & fitness, electric guitar, writing, adobe CC, and wrapping up the episode with a little bit on Dungeons & Dragons.
I’m backdating this by a few days in order to keep my personal timeline in order and to avoid the impression that I am ignoring certain world events. I encourage you to give it a listen. Hopefully, you will find something of interest or entertainment within. And I beg of you to be gentle with your criticisms. Later.
I sat at lunch yesterday and worked out some ideas for this years NaNoWriMo. I came to the recording with a kernel of an idea and if you’d like, you can listen to me walk myself through the idea. The pauses are a bit longer than usual and some of the sentences just seem to drift off into the either, but I’ve listened to it twice now as I edited and I think there is some entertainment value here. But this is definitely me thinking out loud about a writing project. You’ve been warned.
It’s going to be a fantasy novel, low fantasy or possibly dark fantasy, though definitely not grim dark fantasy. It’s not going to be that kind of story, or rather, that’s not how I envision it. I’m going with a working title of …And Don’t Come Back
The rest is revealed on the podcast.
I said the Truckcast was done, but nothing is ever really over. And so, I’ve put the wheels back on the van and hit the road with my recorder on… anything for the fans.
This past weekend was the world renowned Doug Con and I’m going to take this opportunity to let you in on all of the fun and probably tell you about a few other things as well.
I’ve had a great time making the Truckcast and I appreciate those of you who have listened, be that one time or 125 times, but I’m parking the truckcast and taking my podcasting indoors. I don’t have a launch date, a format, or really even a plan quite yet. All I know for sure is that the next podcast you hear from me will be arohenRADIO. Thanks for listening. It’s been a great ride. Maybe we’ll carpool again sometime.
This one is a podcast scramble of bits from five different recording sessions that just didn’t have what it took to go the distance. Some of these tracks are simply to showcase the noise levels I’m fighting against out here on the road. You could think of it as a bunch of junk, but I’d prefer it if you’d be kind and think of it as bonus content. Whatever you want to call it, this is the last of my file of unused clips. Buckle-up. It may get rough.
This is a fairly organized, if rather long, episode of the Truckcast w/ Ronn McCarrick. This time around I’ll be discussing a couple of movies–Warcraft and Justice League, how things are going on my bathroom remodel–drywall, and primer, and my thoughts on the future of the Truckcast–recording in one noisy-ass truck. So get comfortable (this one runs nearly 40-minutes), grab a drink, and allow me to entertain your brain.
Let’s talk about trucks, baby. Let’s talk about you and me. Let’s talk about all the stuff that goes into making… Google Chili. Let’s talk about trucks. And probably some other stuff and things and maybe even what-not. This one is going to go long, because, that’s just how we roll… in the truck. Baby.
Give it a listen and I promise, this is the last of the podcasts that will sound like they’re recorded underwater during a piss-poor navigation of a mine field. I’ve got ideas.
Today, I’ve pieced together a few shorter pieces to create a new and more entertaining Truckcast for you today. These pieces were all recorded in a two day span, but I couldn’t manage to record a single long file, because it’s just hard to be entertaining for any stretch of time. Also, some of the audio is full of garbage… not me, other garbage. Anyway, this one is about work, changes, chili, and it’s got music.
Music is by David Szestay, it’s the same thing I added to arohenTV last week. I like it. have a listen.

The Truckcast attempts, with little success, to tackle the issue of idleness, it’s effects on life, and the difference between rest and idleness. But like all these podcasts, Ronn has a bit of an issue staying on topic and in making a cohesive point. Probably not the big up-sell I had planned, but it’s honest.
This would have been a more successful experiment if it had a bit more structure and planning. Eh. It is what it is… me rambling, only with a subject this time around.
The first Truckcast of the year started off with an actual topic, but then returns to form by wandering around a bit before wrapping up with an overview of the last few aborted posts. So, all-in-all, it’s a pretty typical Truckcast. Plenty of rambling goodness to inform and entertain you. Sit back and have a listen.
You’re getting two Truckcasts this week. This one is a little short, but it is chock full of important information about things everyone probably missed… there’s a new batch of movie releases that have been announced for movies that probably nobody will care about. Have a listen.
