I was reading an article purporting to reveal the truths of the universe to the youth of today. To unveil the reality they (the youth) are not yet ready to hear. Mostly it was the same old crap, but there were a few universal bits I wanted to repost. Look. It’s either this or I post my Wordle score for the day. I’m trying here.
Getting good at stuff will take time. Sometimes lots of time. And sometimes, you’ll spend lots of time on something, and you still won’t get good at it. That’s the human experience. Some things you struggle with will come very easily to others, but some things they struggle with will come very easily to you. Don’t be mad that someone possesses skills you don’t, and don’t be a jerk for possessing skills that many other people don’t.
You won’t ‘feel’ different when you’re older, or have kids. You’ll just be you. With the possible exception that your body can’t always keep up with your mind… But then, it never really could.
School has a system in place to keep you from falling behind, life doesn’t.
Just because you fucked up does not mean you’re a fuckup.
Things will likely take significantly longer to achieve than you think.
Were all worried about the same things. It’s not a big deal, because no one gives a shit. No one cares about that thing you did or didn’t do. We’re all going through it and we’re to overwhelmed by our own stuff to even notice yours.
Life is not like a game where you just keep leveling up. Sometimes, what you built will fall apart, and you will have to repeatedly do the same thing over and over… However, don’t beat yourself up about it – this is normal. And with experience, you will also become more adept at facing and resolving problems, so each time the same problem repeats, you will be better at solving them.
Talent and vision are great, I mean, they’ll take you no where without hard work and long hours. But even with all three there are no guarantees. Luck is what you need, and luck is a fickle, slippery fucker. You’re probably not going to catch luck. Not everybody can be a sensation, somebody has to drive the dump truck and dig the ditches..
At some point you have to acknowledge that you don’t know it all. That you don’t have all the answers. That, maybe, you don’t ‘got‘ this. And that’s okay. No one ever thought you did.
So there you have it, words to live by. I even broke it down into arohe colors for you. Now get out there and make me proud.
