Let's Deal With That Elephant

I would like nothing better than to ignore the elephant in the room. But I can’t. As that would be an irresponsible and cowardly thing to do. So let me address it, because I sure as hell am not going to squeeze that big ass beast through the door and sneak it out of here before you notice it’s here.
It is Wednesday. There is no Queens Wood chapter, again! I apologize.
If you’ve been listening to the Truckcast, you know it was a crazy week last week and I was having difficulties getting my writing time in. That’s just a lack of discipline and sticktoitiveness on my part. But it was really quite distracting around here all last week. Which left me Mon, Tue, and tonight to get you your chapter. And I just couldn’t do it.
I’ve got no excuses for Monday or Tuesday, but tonight there was a school function right after work and I just got back in time to write this excuse. This next chapter is made up of three scenes, I’ve written two of them. One more to go. I was half tempted to put up a scene or two from the chapter, but I don’t want that any more than you do. It’s the chapter or nothing. So let’s plan on next Wednesday. Queens Wood. Right here.
I did get to see a cool band tonight. The Moxie Strings, they’re making music with fiddle, electric cello, and drums. They’ve all got bachelor degrees in music performance and music education and one of the ladies is a graduate of the Kentwood high school, so the school brought them in to work with the 7th and 8th grade orchestra kids, mine included. They all put on a rockin’ show at the high school auditorium tonight. Pretty cool.
