GRCC and Winter 2017

Today was the first day I was able to register for classes during the Winter semester. I wanted to make sure I had the widest range of available classes, so I did my registering this morning. Also, class registration is an assignment in my Intro to College class. Earlier in that class I used the My Degree Path tool to plan out the rest of this year, so I knew what I was looking to put in my cart. My student loan stuff is all in place, so it was easy peasy.

So, my schedule for the Winter 2017 schedule will again be full, three classes to meet my credit requirement for my student loan. I know, I said three was one too many. But I need six credits and two of my classes are only 2 credits each. That leaves me taking three classes again.

  • EN 102 – English Composition 2
  • HVA 110 – Basic Refrigeration
  • MN 116 – Basic Welding

Monday nights at the GR M-TEC center learning to weld, Wednesday nights at the Grandville High School taking english, and Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Applied Technology Center doing lab and lecture on refrigeration. If you need to get a hold of me during the week this winter… good luck.

Heidi and I are going to take the English 2 class together, so that should be fun. Or maybe fun is the wrong word. We’ll get to carpool and commiserate together anyway.

I’m hopeful that once I get into my refrigeration class, I can talk to the instructors and maybe get credit for some of my other experience and schooling. It would be great if I could skip some of these early HVAC classes.
